King LVT Limited Warranty

25-Year Domestic Warranty · 12-Year Commercial Warranty

1. Warranty period

Eligible King LVT products are covered for up to 25 years when installed in qualifying domestic environments and up to 12 years when installed in qualifying commercial environments, subject to the conditions, limitations and exclusions contained in these warranty terms. The warranty period begins on the original purchase date.

2. Warranty registration

The King LVT warranty must be registered within 7 days of installation. The purchaser is responsible for providing complete and accurate registration information. Registration outside this period may result in the installation being ineligible for warranty cover.

3. Who the warranty applies to

This warranty applies to the original purchaser of the King LVT flooring. Proof of purchase must be retained and may be requested before a warranty claim is assessed. The warranty is not automatically transferable to another owner or occupier unless confirmed otherwise in writing.

4. Inspection before installation

Flooring must be checked before and during installation for visible defects, incorrect colour, pattern, dimensions, quantity or obvious manufacturing issues.

Flooring that is installed despite an obvious visible defect may not be eligible for a warranty claim relating to that defect.

5. Installation requirements

King LVT must be correctly installed in accordance with applicable installation instructions and accepted good practice for glue-down luxury vinyl flooring.

  • The subfloor must be structurally sound, suitable, clean, dry, smooth and adequately prepared.
  • Appropriate moisture testing and subfloor preparation must be carried out where required.
  • A suitable flooring adhesive must be used and installed according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
  • The flooring must be correctly acclimatised where required.
  • Appropriate environmental and temperature conditions must be maintained before, during and after installation.
  • Any underfloor heating system must be suitable for the floor covering and operated within applicable flooring and adhesive requirements.

6. What the warranty covers

Subject to these terms, the warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects that become apparent during the applicable warranty period under normal use appropriate to the relevant domestic or commercial installation.

7. Normal wear and appearance

The warranty does not guarantee that flooring will remain visually identical to its original appearance throughout the warranty period.

Normal changes caused by everyday use, ageing, sunlight, cleaning and routine wear are not manufacturing defects.

8. Warranty exclusions

The warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or failure caused wholly or partly by:

  • Incorrect installation.
  • Failure to follow applicable installation instructions.
  • Unsuitable, damp, contaminated, uneven or inadequately prepared subfloors.
  • Moisture, hydrostatic pressure, leaks or flooding.
  • Water or moisture entering from beneath or around the installation.
  • Incorrect adhesive or insufficient adhesive coverage.
  • Adhesive failure that is not caused by a manufacturing defect in the flooring.
  • Excessive heat or inappropriate temperatures.
  • Incorrect operation of an underfloor heating system.
  • Cuts, scratches, dents, gouges, burns or impact damage.
  • Damage caused by furniture, appliances, castors, wheeled equipment or concentrated loads.
  • Staining or chemical damage.
  • Unsuitable cleaning products or cleaning methods.
  • Abuse, neglect, misuse, accidental or deliberate damage.
  • Structural movement or failure.
  • Movement or failure of the subfloor.
  • Fire, flooding or other external events.
  • Normal variations in shade, grain, pattern or appearance.
  • Changes caused by sunlight or UV exposure.
  • Flooring installed in an environment or application for which the product was not intended.
  • Damage caused by other trades or contractors after installation.

9. Care and maintenance

Flooring must be reasonably maintained and cleaned using methods and products suitable for luxury vinyl flooring. Appropriate entrance matting, furniture protection and routine maintenance should be used to help prevent avoidable damage.

10. Commercial installations

The 12-year commercial warranty applies only where the King LVT product is suitable for the relevant commercial environment and has been appropriately installed, used and maintained.

Use exceeding the intended classification or unreasonable levels of traffic or loading may fall outside warranty protection.

11. Making a warranty claim

A potential warranty issue should be reported as soon as reasonably practicable after becoming apparent.

Proof of purchase, photographs, installation information, product or batch information and other reasonable evidence may be requested before the claim can be assessed.

12. Inspection

Discount Flooring Superstore, the manufacturer or an appointed representative may request additional information or arrange an inspection of the flooring before determining whether an issue falls within warranty cover.

13. Warranty remedy

Where an eligible manufacturing defect is confirmed, the appropriate remedy will be determined according to the nature, extent and age of the flooring and the applicable warranty terms.

Any remedy remains subject to reasonable assessment of the claim and the terms of this warranty.

14. Registration does not confirm eligibility

Registration records the information provided about the purchaser, flooring and installation. Acceptance of a warranty registration does not certify that the installation complies with every warranty requirement and does not constitute advance acceptance of any future warranty claim.

15. Accuracy of information

All information supplied during registration or as part of a warranty claim must be complete and accurate. Materially incorrect, incomplete or misleading information may affect the assessment of warranty eligibility.

16. Statutory rights

This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not replace or restrict, any statutory rights the purchaser may have under applicable consumer law.
