What is Styccobond F48 PLUS used for?

Is F48 PLUS suitable for LVT?

How much will a 5L tub cover?
A 5-litre tub covers up to approximately 27.5m², based on a maximum coverage rate of 5.5m² per litre. Actual coverage will vary according to the subfloor and application method.
Is F48 PLUS suitable for conservatories?
Yes. Its high-temperature formulation makes it particularly suitable for conservatories, rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and other internal areas affected by strong sunlight.
What is the difference between F46 and F48 PLUS?
F46 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive that dries to a permanently tacky film. F48 PLUS is a fibre-reinforced, temperature-tolerant adhesive designed for areas exposed to increased heat or solar gain.
How soon can the flooring be installed?
Compatible floorcoverings can be installed from as little as five minutes after application. The exact waiting time will depend on temperature, humidity and subfloor absorbency.
What is the open time?
F48 PLUS has an open time of up to approximately 30 minutes, depending on site conditions. Only apply an area that can be covered while the adhesive remains receptive.
Is F48 PLUS pressure sensitive?
No. It is a fast-drying, fibre-reinforced adhesive. The floorcovering must be installed while the adhesive is still receptive and capable of transferring correctly to its backing.
Can it be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. F48 PLUS is suitable for normal underfloor heating installations. The heating system should be controlled in accordance with the adhesive and flooring manufacturers’ instructions.
Can it be used for rubber flooring?
Yes. It can secure compatible rubber floorcoverings in both sheet and tile form. Always confirm suitability for the exact product being installed.
Which subfloors can it be applied to?
F48 PLUS can be applied to correctly prepared:

The subfloor must be structurally sound, smooth, clean and sufficiently dry.
Can it be applied directly over asphalt or a damp-proof membrane?
Waterproof surface membranes, flooring-grade asphalt and certain non-absorbent surfaces must normally be skimmed with at least 3mm of an appropriate STOPGAP smoothing compound before F48 PLUS is applied.
How should F48 PLUS be applied?
Stir the adhesive thoroughly and spread it evenly using the recommended notched trowel. Install the flooring while the adhesive remains receptive, then press and roll it firmly to ensure full contact. Always follow the current F. Ball technical data sheet and the flooring manufacturer’s instructions.
Is F48 PLUS suitable for outdoor use?
No. It is intended for suitable internal flooring installations and should not be treated as an exterior adhesive or waterproof membrane.
How should it be stored?
