Installation Guide Overview
Installing glue down vinyl tile flooring requires a clean, dry, level subfloor and the correct adhesive, both of which are critical to a successful, long-lasting result. Here's a brief overview of the process:
- Prepare the Subfloor: Ensure the subfloor is smooth, dry, and free from dust, grease, or debris. Any unevenness greater than 3 mm over 2 metres should be levelled prior to installation.
- Acclimatise the Tiles: Allow your gluedown LVT flooring to acclimatise in the room for at least 24 hours before installation.
- Apply the Adhesive: Spread the recommended glue for LVT flooring evenly across the subfloor using a notched trowel, working in manageable sections.
- Lay the Tiles: Press each tile firmly into the adhesive, working from the centre of the room outward. Ensure tight, consistent joins throughout.
- Allow to Cure: Leave the adhesive to cure fully before allowing foot traffic, typically 24 hours. Refer to your adhesive manufacturer's guidelines for exact timings.
