LVT FLOORING GUIDE

Glue Down LVT

A quick guide to glue down luxury vinyl flooring, installation, room suitability and choosing the right LVT for your project.

Glue down LVT flooring, also known as glue down luxury vinyl tile, is installed by bonding the individual planks or tiles directly to a correctly prepared subfloor. The result is a low-profile, stable flooring finish that works particularly well across kitchens, hallways, living areas, rental properties and suitable commercial spaces.

Our glue down LVT range includes realistic wood effect flooring, herringbone LVT and stone effect LVT, giving you the appearance of natural materials with the practical maintenance benefits of luxury vinyl flooring.

Many glue down LVT products are suitable for moisture-prone rooms and compatible underfloor heating systems, but installation requirements and performance ratings vary by product. Always check the individual flooring specification before ordering or fitting.

A smooth, dry and stable subfloor is important for a professional result. Pack coverage, thickness, wear layer and fitting requirements are shown on each product page so you can compare the right floor for your project.

What Is Glue Down LVT?

Glue down LVT is luxury vinyl tile that is permanently bonded to the subfloor using a pressure-sensitive adhesive, tile by tile, across the entire surface. Unlike floating or click formats, there's no flex, no hollow sound underfoot, and no risk of movement over time.

The result feels and behaves more like a traditional hard floor — flat, solid, and stable. It's the installation method of choice for commercial projects, high-traffic areas, and any environment where long-term performance matters.

Why Choose Fully Adhered LVT?

  • Unmatched stability — No movement, no creaking, no tiles lifting over time
  • Built for high traffic — Handles heavy foot traffic, wheeled loads, and constant use without compromise
  • Underfloor heating compatible — Works with both wet and electric systems; direct bonding improves heat transfer efficiency
  • Low profile — Typically 2–3.5mm, fits under existing door frames without adjustment
  • 100% waterproof — Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms
  • Near-zero maintenance — Sweep and damp mop; no sealing or specialist products required

Our Range

Over 25 curated styles, each built to the same standard — fully waterproof, hard-wearing, and suitable for residential and commercial use.

  • Wood Effect — Oak, walnut, ash, and pine finishes with the warmth of real timber and none of the maintenance
  • Stone Effect — Slate, marble, travertine, and concrete looks that perform brilliantly in wet areas
  • Herringbone — A classic format in a wide range of colourways, from bleached oak to dark walnut
  • Carpet Effect — The texture of carpet with the practicality of vinyl; ideal for bedrooms and living spaces

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What types of glue down LVT do you stock?

We stock wood effect, stone effect, herringbone, tile effect, and carpet style LVT, all available in a wide range of colours and finishes, and all suitable for both residential and commercial installation.

2. How is glue down LVT different from click LVT?

Click LVT floats on the subfloor and is designed for simpler, faster installation. Gluedown LVT is permanently bonded to the subfloor, which gives it greater stability, a better underfoot feel, and superior long-term performance, particularly in high-traffic or commercial environments. The trade-off is that it requires more careful subfloor preparation and is not designed to be lifted and relaid.

3. Can I install glue down LVT myself?

DIY installation is possible, but we recommend professional fitting. Correct subfloor preparation and accurate adhesive application are the two most critical factors in a successful result, and the most common causes of problems when installation goes wrong.

4. What subfloor types are suitable for glue down LVT?

Glue down LVT can be laid over most hard, flat subfloors, including concrete, plywood, existing vinyl, and ceramic tiles, provided the surface is clean, dry, level, and structurally sound.

5. How long does the warranty last?

Manufacturer warranties of up to 25 years apply depending on the product. Full warranty details are listed on each individual product page.

6. Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?

Yes. Joining our Trade Club gives you access to exclusive member pricing, bulk discounts, and priority support. Membership is free.
